Better late than never, but at the end of this long (but still too short) weekend I finally managed to get some watercolors down... the page has some more sketches with light washes but those are for another day.

Tried my hand at #watercolourchallenge1 This took me about 10 minutes total. I kind of like how the sketch turned out, but the paint seems uninteresting and the values are off. I’m not used to painting white buildings. Had fun though. #CuratorPrompts148 #Watercolor #MastoArt

I don’t often sketch in pencil or pen, I like to sketch in watercolour. These three took about 20 minutes total.

Total size 125*190mm. If these weren’t speed sketches I would have let the water dry - hence the dodgy car and various spreads, but the aim is to commit to paper not stop and think too long, record what you see.

I somehow spent the same amount of time on each of these drawings of the same woman. I wonder how many more sets of 60 seconds I would've needed to perfect it.

The nice thing about it is there's no pressure to make something that looks good because you've only got a minute! :D (And it's great practice for if you do f.e. plein air stuff and need to lay down the groundwork of a scene quickly ^.^)
