I’m starting a new #audiobook today, Free Love by Tessa Hadley, which was published this year but is set in the 1960s and (from what I’ve heard) it’s a well observed character driven novel, hopefully in a not too dissimilar way to Barbara Pym and Elizabeth Taylor #AmReading #bookstodon #CurrentlyReading

Holy crap! I've read at least 16 e-books in the past two months. I've not been keeping track of book-books, but that adds at least 3-4 more #books

I also read the entirety of the 319 page marijuana legalization bill in July.

#CurrentlyReading Thank You For Your Servitude by Mark Leibovich. I'm not too far into the book, but so far he's done the impossible for me: He's making the ascendance of Trump entertaining reading. But he tends to be good at that kind of thing. I forget how he fits in, but he plays the part of an insider roasting the insiders. This outsider loves it.

I read Sally Rooney’s first two books on audio (excellently narrated by Aoife McMahon) but I’m now reading her next one, Beautiful world, where Are You, in Braille and was interested to see what the reading experience would be like because when it came out there was a fair amount of moaning about the fact she doesn’t use speech marks. I have to say that reading it in Braille has been a breeze so far and I’ve not found this style to be confusing or annoying in any way! Perhaps it’s a very different experience reading it with working eyeballs? #bookstodon #AmReading #CurrentlyReading

I'm only a couple of dozen pages through. I'm gonna take movie breaks between chapters (while the info is still fresh in my head), instead of having a post-read binge-watch.

I'm enjoying it. The author writes deep thoughts using accessable language. I also like that it's organized by time-stamps.

#CurrentlyReading One of the books I'm reading is called Over Here by Edward Humes. It takes a look at the G.I. Bill, how it was conceived in the last days of #WWII and how it completely upended society as we knew it. The G.I. Bill built the middle classs into a monolith. Today we have slid back into how things were in the 1930s, with a small obscenely rich elite, a rather small middle class, and a whole lot of poor people. TBC
