I'm _Security Chaos Engineering_ by Kelly Shortridge & Aaron Rinehart.

Of course the name is appealing to me and it seems relevant enough to my job and interests.

I have a physical copy; I'm not just skimming a pdf.

I started a thing! a new ritual? a project?

I borrow a lot of books from the library after placing a hold, so even though I pick them up at my home library, they’re originally from other branch libraries in the @sfpl system.

so going forward, I’m going to start returning them to their branch libraries of origin until I’ve visited all the different locations.

today: returning Hernán Díaz’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Trust to the Excelsior branch. It’s the best thing I’ve read this year.

This morning - and I have been very lucky in the past few days to be able to read so much - I am being entertained by Ashes of the Sun by Django Wexler, book one in the Burningblade and Silvereye series!
I have hyped the series quite a bit for myself (I also have a post on why the series is on my TBR; feel free to check it on my blog!) and so far I am enjoying what I am experiencing!

What are you or currently enjoying?

canning books. Been looking through Preserving by the Pint tonight. Haven't picked something out of this book yet, but have plans to make pomegranate cherry jelly and triple berry jam this week from a couple of other canning books.

Still haven't picked up anything other than cookbooks. I can't tell if I am in a rut or if I am perfectly okay with the lack of reading. Leaning towards okay with it since I am not actively trying to find something else to read.

Last night I finished The scarab path (book 5 in the shadows of the apt) by Adrian Tchaikovsky and loved it, again easy 5 stars! And I found myself immediately picking up The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty and it is a fabulous story of an independent woman and a legendary pirate!

Last day of and I have enjoyed it immensely. Initially I thought it would be a chore, but it has been delightful! is a nice place to visit. I'll end by sharing the novels that I am :
"Make Me Wilder" by Serena Bell (thanks for reminding me that you had recommended this series, @notTheAudience) and "Modest Independence" by Mimi Matthews.
I'm going to be doing some seasonal reading next. Hopefully some romance as well. TTFN!

"She took a sip of tea from her hip flask.Tea was, as her father had taught her, the panacea for all ills. Too cold? Tea. Too hot? Tea. Feeling like your job is going nowhere, and your life is empty and hollow? Lots and lots of tea. Drown yourself in it; crawl intp a towering fortress of teacups beneath the sweet sea and never leave."

This is yet another entry into these books that I hesitate to say that I really enjoy, but the truth is that I do. I’m not sure why, but I really do enjoy them.

I’m only about 60 pages into this one, but it’s very good! I have a few more of these on my , but this one is shaping up to be one of the better ones!

Today, I wanted just to share why I am - The Liar's Knot by M.A. Carrick (a very dynamic duo of incredible authors!).

I'm _The Legacy of Yangchen_ by F.C.Yee.

I missed this book coming out in July as I was otherwise occupied, but I love the Avatar world and got it as soon as I realized.

Just finished “Wool” wow! What a wild ride that’s been. Superb storytelling. The TV series (Silo) made some major changes but the tone remained. I enjoyed them both.

"Black Power: Politics of Liberation in America", by Kwame Ture (Stokely Carmichael) & Charles V. Hamilton

An eloquent document of the civil rights movement that remains a work of profound social relevance 50 years after it was first published.

A revolutionary work since its publication, Black Power exposed the depths of systemic racism in this country and provided a radical political framework for reform: true and lasting social change would only be accomplished through unity among African-Americans and their independence from the preexisting order.

Men Who Hate Women by Laura Bates of the hashtag fame. I am absolutely horrified! It's a duscussion of online incel forums and how the sociopolitical position the group members take both came about and manifests off-line. I can't get the disgusted look off my face while reafing it.
