#SeptembeRPG Day 5: A personal change you felt in your games in the passing year

1) I did not play less games, but completely abandoned running campaigns (for now!). After a fun, but unsuccessful attempt to revisit #CurseOfStradh using the #ADnD2E rules instead of #5e / #Corpodnd i mostly ran one and few shots.
2) I also started to play #ttrpgs with great people I met on Mastodon. Turns out, this is a fantastic place to find engaged players and turn social media contacts into friends 😮

Session hier. Moi je me suis bien marré.e.
Les autres ont eu peur que je m'ennuie pq mon perso a passé 9 dixième de la session seule, prisonnière de Stradh sans rien pouvoir faire. Sauf que c'est aussi amusant de voir les autres jouer et de voir leurs boulettes et leur aneries. (En tt cas pr moi)

My little „Experiment“ continued: a re-run of #CurseOfStradh, but with #ADnD2E instead of 5e. Surprisingly uneventful (the dice were not in favor of random encounters, today), but atmospheric: Travel montages, a card reading, The Tser Falls, „Dark Neuschwanstein“ (Castle #Ravenloft), NOT entering the old mill…touring all the gothed-up bucolic landscape which is Barovia so to say 1/2

2023 sera chargé pour moi en projet ludique :
- je doit finir d'écrire ma campagne #dnd5 pour #Fateforge (si jamais je procrastine trop vous pouvez me mettre des cartons rouges 🟥)
- J'ai quelques projets de jeu vidéo, dont #BaroviaProject qui devrait sortir en 1.0
- J'aimerai aussi profiter de 2023 pour enfin bosser sur l'appli que j'ai en tête depuis des années... #flutter ?
- Et évidemment, ça sera l'année de ma campagne #CurseOfStradh

@derwahrepeter danke für den Hinweis auf den interessanten Blogartikel lieber Peter. Find den von der „Schreibe“ her nicht so prall, aber inhaltlich geh ich mit. Kenne viele der genannten #osr Module und habe mehrere WotC-Schinken gespielt (aktuell mal wieder #CurseOfStradh). Die #osr Module spielen in Bezug auf Informationsdesign, Kreativität und Spielbarkeit echt in einer ganz anderen Liga

During the first sessions (mild spoilers for #CurseOfStradh ahead)…
we established the haunted House/funhouse dungeon from the introductory adventure „Death House“ as a Safe base. Once the curse was lifted, the PCs could use Death House as a refuge. It is still a spooky place, but not dangerous, at least when compared to the Monster mash which is the Barovian default. I stole the idea from #Vaesen.

Sessions are usually short (2.5 hours max). To facilitate this style of play, I try to dismantle the Barovian Sandbox, by trimming the dungeons and encounters down to one or two interesting things. The #CurseOfStradh module contains so many „empty spaces“, dungeons that do not provide particularly exciting possibilities for the PCs to interact with cool stuff (don‘t get me started on Argynvostholt), that this is a much easier task than i anticipated.

So. Kekse und Tee stehen bereit. Jetzt werde ich wieder ein kurze Runde #Ravenloft leiten (#Adnd2). Das kleine „Experiment“ geht weiter: ein mix aus #CurseOfStradh und 2nd ed Setting im hop on/hop off Modus bespielen.

The Final Battle of the #CurseOfStradh campaign i ran, was an administrative super challenge 🫣 My Players enjoyed it - for me it was a quite stressful experience. With all the RL Stuff going on, wage labor, parenting…i can‘t memorize these spells and lair Actions and What not

Un gros supplément qui vient corriger et enrichir la campagne, comblant certains vides narratif et ajoutant des quêtes annexes superbement intégrées.

Le Chapitre 1 notamment, se suffit à lui même car il ressemble plus à guide de campagne pour le maître du donjon, couvrant tout les aspects de celle ci, en essayant de lier tout les élément entres eux.

What is your favorite #ttrpg module, or adventure?

I know that a lot of people swear by this one - #Ravenloft. It's an old vampire-themed module that's still available in print. It is the basis for the modern, popular #CurseOfStradh setting.

So, the #isekai #curseofstradh dm is still feeling bad from his covid vaccine. I just got mine yesterday so I’m feeling sick today (yay immune response!!)
So we’re delaying this week’s game till Wednesday... which is my birthday
