Anyone have a blind or mostly-blind dog? 🐶Our 8-year old dog went blind within the last two weeks. Vet says SARDS or Cushing’s is likely. We will be taking her for testing soon. 🦮

I would love to find some solid information on how we could make this transition easier for her. She is understandably a bit depressed, and it is breaking my heart. 🙁

Most people don't know what it's like to have chronically fucked up #cortisol. "Don't stress out" is not only a non-answer, but irrelevant!

When my cortisol is high or crashing, I can't:

- Pay attention to the news
- Watch action movies
- Listen to music that gets me "amped"
- Exercise
- Enjoy erotica
- Work on tense scenes in my fiction
- Do basically anything that isn't calm, relaxed, slow, or *boring*.

I look forward to finally being diagnosed🤞

All test results are back. I'm not developing #Cushings, thankfully. Unfortunately, I am now pre-diabetic and my #CKD is increased. So I have to alter my diet again, which I've done numerous times anyway. Hardest part will be cutting out certain fruits and sweet potatoes (*sob* my favorite food 😭). If anyone has really good #recipes for #kidney health, link me.

I'm now being tested for pre-Cushing's & pre-diabetes. Both #Cushings and #diabetes run in my family, but I might've avoided getting them if I hadn't just spent the last 4 years handling my mother's post-stroke decline & death. The constant high levels of stress it created pushed my body to its limits, especially after I got #shingles 3 years ago (stress induced). She didn't make it easy on me either, with psychological as well as physical exhaustion. One more thing to never forgive her for. 😮‍💨

Waiting on a this little guy while he’s at the vet getting his Cushings test. Fingers crossed it’s all good news!
