We caught a very clear video clip of a mountain lion passing through the backyard on a wildlife camera last night.
This is pretty wild! We're about 10 minutes from the Northwest corner of Mille Lacs Lake.
Mountain Lions are very rare in Minnesota, especially this part of Minnesota.

In a break from my daily drone photo series, let me share these interesting (not necessarily good) photos taken today.
The ice is coming off Mille Lacs Lake (in early May) and as the wind blows it against shore it grates together and forms piles, up to 10ft high, of ice chips on the ice and near shore.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I’m still lacking words for how to describe what I witnessed last Thursday. All I know is that I’m astonished every time I go through the 400 or so photos I made that night & have no idea how to whittle them down to the best. There are such subtle intricacies in some & who can say what image is better? A quick one...
Last night was unbelievable. No, I'm nowhere near 100% back to health. However with data like last night's, I couldn't resist. Tried went to a different spot than I usually do & I think it paid off despite having to snowshoe in!
The last time I saw it this good was the Father's Day 2015 storm, so this is a rare treat that all the stars aligned (pun intended)
