#Film maker, photographer and honorary surrealist Jean Painlevé made #science films that verge on experimental art cinema. With custom-built camera setups, he explored the world above and below the water surface, and with that exposed human traits.

Though Sir Venkata Raman was the first non-white person to get a Nobel prize in STEM, not many Indians were conferred the prestigious prize in the later years. :india:

This does not, however, mean that Indians did not have any remarkable contribution to modern science after #Raman. In this thread, in the coming days, I will be posting about the research and biographies of some Indians who, despite having made breakthroughs in science, were never awarded the Swedish prize.
