Looks like I'm going to be in a #CWAcademy intermediate-level class in the May / June session. It's probably the right next step to resume improving, now that the honeymoon period is over and my progress has slowed drastically.
Hopefully I can work out how to use my #CWHotline for it. I'm not sure how they hold sessions, but if I need to be able to both speak and beep I may need to wire up a mixer, either a simple circuit or a software loopback mixer or an actual hardware mixer...
I put together the #CWHotline kit. Fairly straightforward build; an hour or two soldering and an hour-ish drilling out the case.
It works great with vband via USB, and in theory sharing a link_key with a friend or a group would allow for computer-less practice sessions. It'd be nice if it were open source so other projects could interoperate, but it's a start.
The PCB-based paddles are also surprisingly good; I will probably use it with my radio, too.
Anybody else have one?
@kc2ihx when you’re ready to start sending, the Ham Radio Solutions’ #VBand is a great place to start. You don’t need any equipment, but you *can* use your key / paddle w/ an adapter. They also make the standalone #CWHotline, which allows you to communicate privately in #Morse with other CW Hotline users (with a unique key you create) using just the device itself and a wifi connection. #MorseCode

I’ve found that #HamRadioSolutions #CWHotline / #VBand community is a great group of folks to practice #Morsecode with online anytime. With a usb adapter, you can use a key / paddle / bug etc. that you already own, or if you’d prefer, it’s easy to send #CW on the site using just your smartphone’s touchscreen or computer keyboard to jump into Morse QSO’s online. ~ http://skunkham.blogspot.com/2022/11/ham-radio-solutions-cw-hotline-device.html ~ #KE0FFTcw

I'm a trucker who used to copy CW in the USAF. I get on VHF / UHF, DMR and Echolink / Allstar mostly. Sometimes set up an HF rig for CW - usually QRP. Just discovered CW Hotline & VBand from Ham Radio Solutions & am having fun with that. I have a ham radio blog where I update the regular nets I've been listening to and checking into lately, located here: https://skunkham.blogspot.com/
Looking forward to connecting and sharing radio related info. #introductions #MorseCode #cwHotline #Echolink
