@benhamill first of all, I completely agree with you. Proper content warnings from others have certainly helped me to still be able to browse my timelines where otherwise it would just be a compounding stress-factor...
I do wish though that Mastodon mainline would add support for automatically adding content-warnings on the client-side based on your own customisable keywords, rather than only offering filtering based on them.
The options that the Glitch-Soc fork added are a good step in the right direction, and have helped keep my feed easier to handle (along with auto-expanding CWs I don't personally have issues with), though ideally I'd see it taken a step further even.
The options that the Advanced Content Filter addon for Friendica adds to Friendica's front-end, are quite powerful, allowing you to even trigger on things like containing images, or negating rules, and I feel like that could make for a useful addition to Mastodon too, though perhaps as a more advanced option.
(Unfortunately I also fear that this might lead to people even more neglecting to add content warnings, because they might feel like the responsibility then lies on the recipient to have appropriate filters...)
Wenn ich ein Bild ohne Beschreibung finde, schreibe ich - manchmal - eine #Bildbeschreibung dazu. Das poste ich mit der CW "Bildbeschreibung".
Jetzt meine Frage: hilft die CW jemandem?! Konkreter: hilft die CW den Menschen, denen auch die Bildbeschreibung hilft?! -> denn dann mache ich das weiter so. (sonnst würde ich die CW zukünftig weglassen)
