Cybercriminals using the #Lockbit #ransomware have apparently hit #RoyalMail in the UK. The impact is mostly felt in overseas deliveries, and Royal Mail has been instructing customers to avoid sending mail. A Royal Mail spokesman repeated warnings to customers that there is no end in sight to delivery disruption. Further delays expected until Royal Mail finds workarounds to restore service.

Cyber extortionists using LockBit are known to ask for ransoms to the tune of $50M and $60M USD. Its affiliated members have extracted tens of millions of dollars in actual ransom payments from their victims. Will Royal Mail pay them off?
