@daveyalba thanks for old news that's been a problem on Meta as well. It's why as security expert I look at social media as data gold mine that is open to everyone. I usually recommend my clients not to fill out polls or quizes originating from social media as they are selling the data they enter in.

Social Media is great tool that needs to be regulated and accountable regardless of the platform and until major countries like the US or UK begin to enforce serious consequences to these business models for data manipulation to data capture
People won't be safe
Mastodon is good because it's open source and when you sign up it tells the user that all data is exposed.
