For years I did want to learn Max/MSP but I did not have the courage.
I finally jumped after rewatching Sean Booth's AMA a few months ago and I'm having a great time ! This is the first part of the sequencer I want to cook to at some point perform and improvise with it.
I will document the process here and I'm thinking about making a blog. Welcome.

Here’s version v0.8 of SP-Tools, Machine Learning Tools for Drums and Percussion!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zulgaFZNH4
This one’s been a long time coming and is the biggest update so far, adding a whopping 16 new abstractions and 3 new Max for Live devices (full changelog below).
There’s also a Discord server now for updates, sharing patches/corpora, new ideas, etc…:

Why don't #cycling74 make the js source available for their objects and classes? Makes it so hard to write code you can actually test as using any #maxmsp objects like JitterMatrix mean you can't run your code outside of their runtime environment.
With v0.8 of SP-Tools around the corner, I've decided to setup a discord server for the project. I'm going to properly launch it in the next update video but if you'd like to join already, here's the link:

Here's the initial teaser video to get an idea of what it's about:

Even though that's only 7 months ago, there's been *soo* mange additions since then!

What a wild #choir rehearsal! Myself and Andrew Pask created this piece for #MOXsonic 2023. It will feature live digital processing of the choir in #maxmsp from #cycling74 along with us, the choir boys, playing along. UCM Concert Choir conducted by Jackson Thomas. This is a sonic tidbit from an acoustic run through of the score… electronics will be added next week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kop-I2bDbf4

Andrew Pask and I started playing together in the early 2000s, first as members of Vinny Golia’s Large Ensemble then forming our own trumpet/clarinet duo (The Choir Boys) inspired by John Carter and Bobby Bradford. We added #electronicmusic to the #experimentalmusic / #improvisation mix via us each creating our own software in #maxmsp from #cycling74. Here is audio and footage from September. In prep for a concert length work featuring us with choir this March https://youtu.be/YdfyNbNuh08

my current project is using #cycling74 RNBO to create Percusa SSP modules.
the idea of allowing non-developers to create new modules is really exciting...
#introduction Hello world! I’ve recently migrated to this server, so I thought I’d make a new intro.
I'm a software engineer at #cycling74. I mainly write C and C++, but I'm also into learning #rustlang for my free time projects. I play the French horn when I'm not making sounds on my computer, and I also like #knitting, running, #crosswords, and #baseball.

Anybody checked out that new book on #Max from #cycling74 ? Seems like a fun way to get back into that realm again
