Unlike World War I in the west, the war in the east was mobile and the front shifted significantly back and forth, several times. #Czernowitz (today: Chernivtsi, #Ukraine) changed hands several times.

In this short official film clip, residents enthusiastically greet him after Austro-Hungarian troops liberate the city from its Russian occupation in 1917.
