I can't resist nerding out on camera gear a little, even if I hate it at the same time. The camera really isn't all that important. That said, I couldn't resist replacing my broken Nikon D700 with another one since they're pretty cheap.
12MP is a little paltry at this point, but that's still good enough for a sharp image on a 4k screen. And the complete lack of video means all the controls are set up for pure photography work. A classic from the now fading DSLR era.

The oldest photo I have from my #Nikon #D700 was photo #5, and it was a A LOT more typical of the first photos #photographers take with their cameras. At least, photographers who own bicycles and not cars. #photography

Relatively close encounter with a frill-necked lizard (Chlamydosaurus kingii) in Noosa National Park, Queensland.
When it saw that we'd seen it, it didn't scoot up the tree, but any approach made it move around the tree out of sight, so this is as close as we got.
I'd estimate it's probably about full size, or around a meter long, nose to tail tip, although that's a *long* tail. The frill is down (the frill is gone?), and we weren't about to deliberately alarm it for a display.

Not iPhone this time, I dragged out the D700 and 90mm macro, but it wasn’t easy with two dogs.
