Interesting to learn that #Masutatsu #Oyama, founder of #Kyokushin #Karate apparently studied #DaitoRyu #Aikijujutsu in some form. It’s been claimed there is a scroll of high level or secret techniques, which is DR stuff. I wonder if anyone can confirm?

One interesting side effect of doing #aikido and #daitoryu: my grip and wrist strength seems clearly stronger. Or maybe it’s technique. Jars are generally easy to open now, with a bit of a yonkyo grip. In fact I just tightened up a jar to the point it opened in the opposite direction (in other words the lid metal bits bent out).
Huh, managed to tear my smooth fabric #NoneCircles gi top in #DaitoRyu today (hip throws). Lasted a couple of years. I prefer smooth fabric to the rough rice weave ones you usually see in #aikido and #judo tops. This one was marketed for aikido but I have a feeling the fabric might be from a heavy karate top. Sorry @karatejukka, I might have to use some rougher top for #kobujutsu now…

On the 28th in Helsinki is a chance to experience oldschool Japanese #jujutsu in the style of #DaitoRyu #Aikijujutsu (that gave birth to #aikido). An open seminar taught by senseis who brought it to Europe for the first time. At the VMA dojo, from 1pm.
Highly recommended for anyone into #budo or #martialArts.
