Danny was 10 toen hij ging drummen bij de schoolband, hij vond het zo leuk dat hij private lessen nam. In High School sloot hij zich aan bij de jazzband van de school.
Jazz zou een rode draad worden samen met wetenschap. Danny verwerkt in zijn drumspel theorieën van meetkunde en metafysica.
In Kansas schuimt hij letterlijk de jazzclubs en verhuist via Portland naar LA waar hij gaat drummen voor #CaroleKing en in 1986 mee #PigmyLoveCircus

@KydiaMusic best example is Danny Carey (TOOL) .. He goes crazy all the time when it comes to rhythms :D .. take the time to watch the full 12 minutes, it`s worth it!
It is so different to other bands. He is not just the rhythm machine in the background, he is highlighting the lyrics, the guitar, the bass. It is like a 4th instrument in TOOL (considering Maynards voice is an instrument too).
