@alucchesi introduced today at Annual Event 2023 in Budapest a powerful tool to manage your research photos which might be useful for those in our network with large folders of their research manuscripts and artifacts pictures on their computers:

tropy.org/

@tropy helps you take full control of your research photos and manage a great amount of data efficiently.

You can contribute to the project:

I am digging through another tool registry for the . This time it is the SSH Open Marketplace (marketplace.sshopencloud.eu), a multi-stakeholder, three-year infrastructure project that received substantial funding from the 's programme. After the end of the initial grant-funding, the service is operated by , , and

Thanks to their API (yeah!), I can dig through the dataset and I am a bit puzzled about what I found, to say the least: 1237 of a total of 1687 tools were directly sourced from (tapor.ca/).

This source and others are somewhat acknowledged, albeit not to the extent that I would expect when it's essentially all there is. Especially, since the site also heralds five core principles (guiding values etc. etc.), among them *curation*. But as it stands, the actual curation was done by TAPoR and its predecessors.

Olga Holownia defining DH project is one that uses digital methods and computational techniques as part of its research methodology, dissemination plan, and /or public engagement. Outputs are often 1) an online database or mobile app (for use by scholars and public), 2) high quality data for sharing under an open access license, 3) submission of online resource and/or data for REF as research outputs or impact case studies (UK).
