There's a featured video? I didn't even know.
Here's how to make the Web bearable (whether you're #ActuallyAutistic, like me, or not):
1. Install #Firefox
2. Install the #uBlockOrigin extension
3. If you prefer dark mode, install the #DarkReader extension
That's it. Enjoy the peace and quiet. 🙂
If you still see annoyances, uBO has extra blocklists that you can enable experimentally, but you probably won't need them.
Questions? Ask. I'll try to help.

I don't think I could use the Internet without #darkreader and #ublockorigin. 🫣️ https://darkreader.org/ https://ublockorigin.com/ #firefox #thunderbird #extension #contentblocker #adblocker #darkmode #opensource

After more than a year of using the Dark Reader plugin for Firefox to make all websites have a dark mode (so easy on the eyes), I have regretfully turned it off. Too many websites were suffering degraded performance, with slow loading times and long lags. Tracked it down to Dark Reader, which also had caused me previous issues with a site I logged into (couldn't log in if it was on).
I've switched now to "Dark Background," which works perfectly fine.
@Tarah why is this not the default?
I've had to use #DarkReader not to get my retina burned out by it!
I've had one foot stuck in this #DCI-P3 #ColorSpace rabbit hole for days. Found a simple test page for browser support: https://www.wide-gamut.com/test
But even in iOS Safari it did not show #P3 support... Last night I found out why - my #DarkReader extension blocked it. Disable DarkReader and the differences from #sRGB are obvious. (Safari's native Reader Mode allows P3, but it breaks a bit of the page content.) Other iOS browsers also support P3. No Windows or Linux browsers I tried can.

#duckduckgo requires #darkreader be set to static mode for the site.
The default bright white mode induces eye and head pain. Most unpleasant.
It seems as if duckduckgo is trying to be as unpleasant about getting it's way as it can.
@BarrenPlanet @TheNurseIsIn Yep. I use #DarkReader on my browsers often. Honestly, I would happily accept this limitation if there was a cure for the #BrainFog that is keeping me unemployed.
I love Dark Reader. It's an essential browser plugin. I've only just discovered you can choose a color scheme, like solarized, which looks really good on one of the sites I use it for. #darkreader
FOSStastic apps are everywhere! I’ve been highlighting projects I’ve come across during my journey into #Linux and #FOSS. Please SUPPORT your favorite projects!
App Number 14: Dark Reader - An open-source MIT-licensed browser extension that generates a dark mode to reduce the eyestrain of the user.
#DarkReader is great for websites that don’t have a native dark mode. It will auto-generate a dark mode page that you can customize per-site.

Some people are using extensions like #DarkReader to darken websites without dark theme, but these are fingerprintable, especially dark reader is dangerous because it's the most known. Instead I would recommend for Brave Users (Idk if it's in other chromium-based browsers similar, ig) to go to "brave://flags/" or "chrome://flags/" and enable "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents". It does the same like Dark reader but u have no longer to trust a third party and

I've used a combination #Stylus and #DarkReader to make my #Discord #PWA have a proper darkmode. No more of this blue-ish crap, black and dark gray only baybeee!!!
#stylus #darkreader #discord #pwa
I discovered this thanks to #DarkReader
I was confused at first because it looks so prominent there.
I thought some intern had made a mistake and no one had noticed yet
I'm unsure whether the truth is better or worse...
@StartpageSearch I use #FirefoxBrowser #BraveBrowser and #VivaldiBrowser
If Firefox had tab grouping. Or Vivaldi had app for iOS/iPad. Or Brave didn’t focus so heavily on the whole crypto thingy. And all of them had #DarkReader and Braves level of built in #Adblock
#adblock #firefoxbrowser #bravebrowser #vivaldibrowser #darkreader
Whoa, a truly radical aesthetic breakthrough! [btw, this post might contain traces of histrionic exaggeration]
Have only just now realised that #DarkReader & my Masto/Fossto "Dark" UI #SiteTheme Preferences setting in my #FirefoxNightly, have been fighting each other, resulting in a rather more "muddy" appearance than necessary. Instead, having now returned Masto/Fossto UI to "Light", & left DR on, my UX is visually much better; more crisp, better contrast. Slow learner, me. 🤦♀️
#darkreader #sitetheme #firefoxnightly
The #Firefox #PWA extension lets you still add Firefox add-ons inside the PWA, so my Mastodon PWA is now in a black theme via #DarkReader to match the rest of my desktop. I love this way more than I should lol
https://librewolf.net/docs/faq/#why-is-librewolf-forcing-light-theme
