It's strange, playing offline in #EldenRing / #DarkSouls feel much more lonely, even though I'm 99% alone anyhow.

Of course, it's due to the absence of messages and bloodstains.
Those make the games a lot more light hearted, and make me feel safer. Without them, the atmosphere is more opressive and scarier.

Interestingly, I only feel that way because I've been conditioned to expect the messages everywhere, whereas other games don't have them in the first place, so there's nothing to miss.

Tomorrow, or today timezone depending, more Dark Souls remastered on twitch. I forget what I need to do next. Find the soul of a firekeeper somewhere I guess? And fight snake men that murder me quickyl. But atleast it's not Blighttown.

Today I learned how to make fire without using Blender's agonizingly slow, CPU-melting physics simulation.

I KNEW there had to be a way to do this with just shaders, and I was very close to figuring it out myself, but this tutorial helped me finally get what I was going for.

Threw together a Dark Souls bonfire to show it off.

In the FromSoft Soulslike games, players can leave messages for others to discover in-game. These can be to inform, to encourage, and to aid; they provide a sense of communal effort to a greater goal, and a feeling of solidarity in the face of overwhelming odds.

On the 10th attempt. She's kinda the perfect boss in this game so far. Good balance of hard attacks and learnable patterns.
Gaping Dragon felt mope epic but I got it on the second real try.
Capra demon... Is worse than all of Blighttown. But more condensed.
