With all these things happening in the #AI world, I can't resist but see how we are going back to #DarkTimes of #Software development, where everything was proprietary.

BlackBox AI == Proprietary software.

It is well-written and funny. And in these #DarkTimes, I need some of that. Its a nice contrast to the more serious SFF I've read recently, so part of a balanced SFF diet.

Oof. Watching Lord of the Rings, and Sam kicks off on this beautiful speech about living through a dark tale:

"Sometimes you don't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy ...when so much bad has happened"

And it hits all the feels today.

Yahoo back then wasn’t so much a search engine, as it was a #phonebook. It was a #hierarchical listing of #websites grouped together by #subject.
