One of the 'did they put it back upside down when they rebuilt it?' stones at Grey Wethers double stone circle on Dartmoor. It was restored in 1909, I have no idea how accurately or otherwise, and presumably nobody else does either. But personally I like how they look this way up.

The 59 bus leaves Royal Parade (stop A13 outside Poundland) at 11.05am, arriving in Cornwood 11.45am. It looks like there will be a contingent of us travelling on the bus, so come along and join the party!

There was a weird moment when I was up at the Powder Mills yesterday when one of the huge clouds I’d photographed earlier passed over and cast everything into dark shadow apart from a narrow band of pale gold on the Tor opposite.
The birds fell silent and settled into the trees, as if it was time to roost, even though it was only early afternoon.
It was genuinely eerie, and the light was extraordinary.

Powder Mills. Former site of Devon’s only gunpowder factory.
It supplied the local mines and quarries and the Royal Navy in Plymouth.
At its height a community of 150 people lived and worked in this remote spot.
The building are widely spaced across the site - to ensure that any accident in one didn’t set off a chain reaction in the others.
