Israeli gov just published a draft of regulations that would award Europeans (EEA) additional data protection rights, when their data is transferred to Israel.
This is in a (desperate) effort to save Israel's 2011 Adequacy status. The proposed rights - deletion of personal data, minimization, data quality, and broader notice. Indeed, much needed.
The result, however, would be absurd: Foreigners would enjoy higher levels of data protection than Israelis.
