Guess what: Anyone here probably assumes document types are defined and can be used in whatever system. I spare you the history but only with my recent release this reflects to be true. #DSpace #COAR #datacite #OpenAIRE
Still having trouble on the formerly perfect #BibTeX export. But I am confident because my beloved admin is back from holidays and browsing the backlog.

@toxomat @rmounce @toothFAIRy You've come to the right person for the relatedIdentifier rant ;) This is aspirational, and I think #Datacite has unfortunately mismanaged that property pretty badly in the past, but I do hope and am seeing some signs that's (very, very slowly) improving.
We now have a mechanism in #DataCite Fabrica for designating a Repository account as an IGSN ID Catalog that will be used exclusively for the registration of IGSN IDs.🥳

Inspired by my trip to Malta last week with EuroGeographics I’ve written a short blog with my reflections on open data from those conversations. I’d love to hear your thoughts too. #opendata #geospatial #datacite

Looking for guidance on #description elements in #DataCite #metadata.
I want to keep one rich structured description I can push to #DataCite AND use with minimal processing for my landing page.
#Zenodo supports structured metadata and uses strong/em tags in #json
https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6820319
https://api.datacite.org/dois/10.5281/zenodo.6820319
I could use the same approach and #CSS to render structure, but DataCite says no HTML except br.
Is there a better way? Multiple description elements to manage structure?

#Fabrica users, this one’s for you!🥳
Read Kristian Garza's & Suzanne Vogt's latest blog post about all the improvements we've implemented in the new release. We believe these improvements will make Fabrica an even more valuable tool for our members.👇

Is anyone in the UK currently doing anything with IGSN (International Generic Sample Number), or interested in doing so? Now that the collaboration between #IGSN and #DataCite is progressing nicely I'd love to hear thoughts on how we can support our community in the UK with this.
More info about the identifiers at https://www.igsn.org/ and the collaboration at https://blog.datacite.org/category/igsn/

@gin My personal view is that organizations should be on Mastodon. The “openness” of mastodon aligns from my perspective also very well with #DataCite's understanding of being an open infrastructure.
In addition, most German public institutions/NGOs that do care about privacy already do have an account on mastodon.
DataCite is happy to announce that they currently have an open call for nominations for new steering and working group members, both from member organizations and non-members. #DataCite strives for diversity and is therefore looking to include members from different regions, genders, backgrounds, and types of organizations. They specifically encourage members from Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia to apply.
@ClarePindex@mastodon.social Ooooh! That IS diffictult! We had the same discussion yesterday in a #GoFAIR workshop. Do you know #DataCite? (https://datacite.org/) Maybe their #MetaData schema helps you to collect the information you need.
