Utterly stumped on solving this drive mount issue. Other drives have resized without issue, no lost files or mangled hashsums, but this one particular drive is giving me trouble... and nothing online gives a conclusive answer...

I spent some time yesterday organizing my backup files. It's one of those things where you're not really sure you're gaining anything from the effort.

But it was funny, I put my head down and lost hours at the keyboard. Just like the old days.

I have everything important saved, very redundantly, and this new organization might help me find things more quickly .. in the unlikely event that I actually have to?

Apparently #DataHoarder is the tag, though for me it's just a few gb of Good Stuff.

Some folks on mastodon delete posts after a period, sometimes for privacy sometimes to save server space.

Is there a nice way to download a thread/archive it?

I don’t want to distribute them, I think there’s two cases:

1 I like having an archive of stuff I’ve said so I can look at it years later.
2 people have good advice/essays and I’d like to read them in the future.

I've been thinking of switching from Sync to pCloud - mainly to consolidate my family's separate cloud storage and to serve as a good home for video materials for projects.

The 10TB Family plan is a steep up-front, but seems worthwhile.

Anyone have issues with it? Anyone love it? Thoughts?

As a #mastoadmin who also happens to be a #datahoarder, I REALLY wish there was a way to easily mass-copy emotes from other servers. There is a feature to add emotes from a tar file uploaded to my server but I have no easy way to get all the emotes I want in a tar file. 🤷🏻‍♂️😬

I have a friend with a video production company, their Dropbox Business account just came up for renewal. $800 for a year. They have 120 TiB of data stored on it (lots and lots of video)

That amount of data on AWS S3 would cost $32,000/year.

Just set up my new #WesternDigital 20TB #HDD. I have it serving as the primary media storage so it's going to be always on. Only thing is - it's not quiet. Usually making this intermittent clicking noise. My last drive was a totally quiet 5TB Seagate HDD and never heard anything like this. Anybody know what this noise might be? #DataHoarder #StrangeNoises
