Fundamentally comes down to the system it’s being developed w/in, the way ownership of ideas are translated in societies. Technology looks to move rapidly (move fast break things) and is not beholden to ethos except for culture of accumulation and profit. Doesn’t account for harm caused by a lot of tech. Thinking about what we can do. How can we counter tech companies not being transparent? Teach students how to critically evaluate tech solutions in terms of who it impacts, how is it developed, who developed it, who is the invisible labor, how transparent is the company, is the transparency honest. We really need a framework on how to integrate this into instruction.
