Does anyone know of any decent public dbt projects on GitHub?

I'm ideally looking for active projects that have pull requests for modeling changes

Are you interested in building machine learning models in R, but not sure where to start? Look no further than the tidymodels package! In this post, we'll break down a simple code example that demonstrates how to build a linear regression model using tidymodels.

Whoo... this is a meaty one, capturing (at a high level) pretty much everything I know today about the media library manager. Technically I'm caught up on the A-Z Blog Challenge (no posts outstanding) but I don't have one yet for tomorrow.

What with being two days behind schedule for 'L Day', 'Little Bit Late' could've been an acceptable title also.

Expanding a little on column type definitions, tomorrow probably looking more specifically at how entities would be modeled.

There's a reason 'J' is worth 8 points in Scrabble. I ended up with something of a contrived post title for 'J' day.

Here, I take a look at the metadata options in calibre, and touch a little on how I think I might implement a similar concept in my media library (which I might expand on in tomorrow's post, if I can come up with a title starting with 'K').

Wrote the post last week, forgot to click 'Schedule'. Oops.

Here I take a closer look at the data models and compare performance. TL;DR: performance difference is partly due to data model, but mostly isn't (only about 2-3 times faster with the new model, usually).

Despite the media library application being 'about' cataloguing and managing media information, the design I'm leaning toward makes it easy to be very liberal regarding the definition of 'media information'.

Yesterday I described the data elements, today I draw a picture and test the design against anticipated use cases.

My background is in software development and data architecture, so for me, designing a data model is an important step in understanding the problem. If the model is hard to create, I have a problem (which might be "the request is really hard to satisfy", more often it's "there is something I don't yet understand").

So far... I think I can get this.

An experiment using to create domain models for agreements.

It does an outstanding job. I gave our app a Service Level Agreement, and it gave me back a valid schema that I can now use elsewhere. This means that I can automatically create templates and web forms for an agreement.

Use the prompt: "Create a domain model for the following contract text:"
