Le #DataNerd en moi aime bien consulter mes stats de lecture sur la liseuse et voir qu'il va passer à peu près 10 heures en compagnie de Bret Easton Ellis pour ses éclats.
Since I've been putting on so many miles, I've been able to do a little data collection as well. I note, approximately once every two miles someone ignores a traffic light, sign, or law and tries to run me over.
i've now added a 6 more months to my podcast listening spreadsheet. 5 of which were backlogs from before I created the spreadsheet, and then 1 for the month of May 2023.
One unexpected benefit of buying a newly sub-divided property (as we have) is that you can track how long it takes for the information of its existence to propagate through various digital platforms.
I didn't expect it to take 7 months for it to get onto Google Maps though, especially since the information was in the public domain within weeks!
Nov 2022: The property was entered on the register of title.
Dec 2022: The property is included in the Land Information New Zealand property boundary dataset (publicly available under a CC-BY 4.0 licence). Property appears in the NZ Post address finder
Jan 2022: Property boundaries visible on Open Street Maps, though not the street name
Feb 2022: The property is included in the LINZ Street Address dataset (also CC-BY 4.0)
April 2022? (I didn't make a note): The street name/number are now visible in Open Street Maps
June 2022: The address is searchable in Google Maps, and there is a new satellite image.
I came across this visualization about wind power in the US. Pretty interesting.

If you are a #datanerd AND love #fitness AND like creating your own #workout #programs, I cannot recommend #Hardy enough.
This #app is completely legit, and the #UI is awesome too. Definitely still in the early stages, but shows a ton of promise.

Electric vehicle registrations in Canada by province and quarter.
BC - the clear leader
Quebec - the only other province ahead of the national average
Saskatchewan - the laggard
Alberta - doesn't report data for some reason

#introduction Hi folks, I'm Hakeem, a seasoned #businessanalytics pro with experience at large orgs like #Amazon and #Siemens. My skills and interests coalesce @ #datavisualization, #statisticalanalysis, and #qualitativeresearch.
Legit #datanerd. Excited about these communities and looking forward to knowing new people and learning new things.
Generally, pragmatic, but a sucker for complex problems! Mega into #datainsights, #ML, #dataanalytics & #behavioraleconomics. Tech in search of lab.

Week 23 challenge done...
Had to repeat it once. Still think, the questions where dumb. 🙈
Anyway.
Visualizations might be harder, than expected. Who knew? 🤷♂️
It's like with everything, must get used to it and exercise, exercise, exercise.
Never forget, the master failed more times, than the apprentice even tried.

Next course:
Share Data Through the Art of Visualization
Four weeks. I'm a bit excited.
Back to my course...
Actually, I'm a bit tired, but everything's gonna be alright. Maybe this gets me out of the dirt and cold into an office at best into a home-office. 🤞
Anyway, calculations in SQL is bit fun, I start to really like SQL, but I assume, if it gets more real, it gets harder and then... We'll see. But until then I enjoy it. 😬 ✌️
Have a great day.
I must admit, Google-Sheets is not bad, very user friendly. With my limited experience, I must say, maybe better than Excel, at least so far. Libre Office Calc... feels like not even in the same race, maybe not even the same sport.
I'm not a Google fan, and this hurts a bit to say, but it is what it is.

We are just *one* publication away from the nice round total number of 10,700 specifications published by #W3C since we launched the Consortium in October 1994 \o/
Since then we've published 460 web standards.
(Note: one single standards amounts to several publications because of the various stages the work reaches as it progresses.)

2022 was the third year in a row after I started #exercising daily. I wrote a review post so I can compare year to year.
Notably:
• Fewer kilometers driven than walked/run \o/
• workout on 363 days out of 365
• over 13h exercising per week (avg. ~2h/day)

It's healthcare plan selection time! Which means, it's healthcare cost modeling and forecasting time to decide whether or not higher premiums are justified! #datanerd
Developing new measures for monitoring the student application funnel today…I really like putting things in their proper boxes. Gimme a bucket of things and I will have them sorted along some dimension or attribute if you walk away for long enough. Depending on the situation, I won’t even wait for you to walk away. But you should. Definitely *before* I start trying to tell you all about it. #dataNerd #systems #saveYourself #noStayIReallyWantToTellYouHowThisWorks #stopTouchingTheDataModel

Getting there!
Over 90% (21,230/23,860) prerequisites now resolve, either "I found a connection" or "I give up" ('must be born to a noble family' doesn't connect to a specific game object) or "don't care because it's structure" (where one of a set of prereqs suffices, there is an 'or prereq' containing the choices).

Ah ha!
I figured out the last bits I needed in order to solve the 'make prerequisite parsing declarative' code. This means that instead of writing a slew of full templates that parse prerequisite text in different ways and then apply all the same steps with the resulting values, I can declare how to get the different values out and then... do all the same things.
This reduces about twenty elements to... one. And reduces the code I have to maintain.
