I arrived in Malta yesterday for EuroGeographics'general assembly. Tomorrow I will kick off the second day with a presentation on the #eudatastrategy and #dataspace and what it might mean for the heads of 40 or so national mapping, cadastral and land registry authorities.

Een goede middag in Amersfoort vandaag over de Interbestuurlijke #Datastrategie #IBDS en het federatief datastelsel #FDS Iemand merkte op: in een federatie maakt het nogal uit waar je in de federatie zit t.a.v. je invloed. Dat lijkt me hier ook zeker het geval. Werk aan de winkel voor #geodata lijkt me om ook in EU #dataspace context voldoende zichtbaar en pro-actief te blijven om invloed te houden en decennialange ervaring herbruikbaar te maken.

VIVET kijkt naar datagebruik en uitwisseling voor energietransitie. Dat is vaak ingewikkeld. De EU #datastrategie levert een reeks nieuwe gereedschappen om verantwoord met data om te gaan, die tot uitdrukking zullen komen in de EU #dataspace Mooie #Geonovum workshop deze week met datahouders of die nieuwe instrumenten passen op waar de complexiteit in de #VIVET ervaringen zit.

Vanochtend het kwartaaloverleg met alle INSPIRE datahouders in het Tactisch Beraad. Veel over de EU High Value Data implementatie, de eerste EU brede verplichte #opendata, en over de #greendeal #dataspace, met een presentatie van SURF die aan de voorbereidingen ervan meewerkt.

Op weg naar Surf voor kennismaking met de Nederlandse partijen in het consortium dat de #GreenDeal #Dataspace voorbereidt. Benieuwd naar hun plannen, en hoe we daarin het perspectief onderbrengen van de #geodata houders bij de overheid op nut en noodzaak van die Dataspace voor de Green Deal doelen.

In a session on the EU #dataspace , and pleased to hear that at the start the notion of the EU single market for data sharing and usage is stressed. Because that is the way to prevent that those #dataspace discussions become tech-focused and forget governance, standards, regulatory interoperability etc.

Looking forward to reading Data Mesh by Zhamak Dehghani. I think this is a key concept for the creation of the EU dataspace(s), where combining and working with data is envisioned as not requiring centralising that data, nor even having a copy of the data for your application.
