Fun fact: IN the USA, when humans first targeted musquitoes, they eliminated the spawning grounds of the mosquito and dug new breeding spots -- meant specifically to get all the larvae of the next generation of musquitoes together in one place. Just so they could kill them easier.

Consider the animal that is the biggest threat to humans: the mosquito. It has evolved specifically to prey upon mammals, and it does so pretty well.
They can smell humans up to 30 feet (10m) away, which is 2000 times their own body size. They evolved six mouthparts, two of them with teeth, specifically to pierce the skin of humans without them noticing doing so.
