While the ex-Chief Moron gets all the attention with his outrage engine, carrot head and has-been fame, the guys with 400,000 deaths in Iraq (Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et.al.) still enjoy their privileged status of “kind-of-mellow” hawks. I guess it pays for Bush Jr. to play dumb and stupid and conservative.

Of course, the right wing press keeps building the “dumb but nice-y” Bush Jr. Now they even get help from and Nauseating.

Curious symmetry there.

"As America ceases to be majority non-Latino white, it is generating new kinds of cross-ethnic political coalitions and competition. The backward-looking Trump profited from that change, but never understood it and could never effectively use it. A new generation of conservative politicians can and will. DeSantis is already leading the way."

Not being an economist, my views on the merits of generally or specifically should be treated sceptically. Even so...

I read an essay by once in which he claimed that government spending could be fast, cost-effective or useful: pick two. That is, a government can build something useful at a good price, but not quickly; it can rapidly build something useful, but not at a good price; it can build something quickly and cheaply, but it won't be particularly useful.
