But tricks are used to skirt these deep issues. #DavidStarkey conveniently avoids both by literally making history about #Kings & #Queens in his work (available as an audio book) #Monarchy. Whilst we mock the #Spare, it was he, #Harry, who told us that we need to look deeper and longer at ourselves as English people. Don’t live a lie.

@markwyner One positive step might be to emulate the superb and effective @auschwitzmuseum by creating something like a social media slavery museum. In #DavidStarkey’s #Monarchy his references to black African slavery are as though he’s talking about benign commerce. Really appalling for a C21st historian-cum-celebrity. If one exists could someone point it out. Of course the story of slavery extends to #Auschwitz and beyond.
