As well as the Sanderling (see earlier post), I watched a Great Black-backed Gull (I’m not good with younger gull so happy to be corrected) eating a Dogfish.

YouTube - Sanderling (Calidris alba) on the incoming tide at Dawlish Warren, Devon

I spent most of today at Dawlish Warren. Lots of Sandwich Tern feeding and resting in the Exe estuary (couldn’t see the Roseate Tern that had been seen yesterday) along with Ringed Plover, Raven, a Seal, Whitethroat amongst others. One of my favourite wader species was resting on the beach and I managed to get a short video - Sanderling.

#Devon has many habitats and it has been a while since I visited Dawlish Warren NNR, so that's where I headed this morning.
