Stoked to have wrapped up #DawnofWar 2 today. This is the first strategy game I've played since the original Command & Conquer. I always thought the genre was too big brain for me, but I had a blast, and learned a lot.

Now to play through the expansions, maybe in co-op with a friend.

Look. I am really enjoying all the new games I am playing. But today I got to go back to #DawnOfWar 2 and then this moment happened and I was like "WTF HOW DID I NOT PLAY THIS GAME BACK IN THE DAY?!"

Now I am asking myself though, why would I choose a normal unit ever again over this beefy boi?

This has really taught me something this year - step out of your comfort zone and try more games that are not in your genre. I never liked strategy games before, but this time... they just clicked!

Have a running GW battle with @Octavius8 - a marine boy through and through. I try to deny my nature - playing some other armies, and the gods of dice are never pleased. I play Orcs and Goblins - all of a sudden equilibrium is back. Now, I don’t win all the time - but he never leaves with both his metaphorical knees. This has been true for #DawnOfWar & #KillTeam. Getting a game with him roughly end of this month (Kill Team). On a completely unrelated note, here’s a mini I’m building..

Nie powiedziałbym, że to nawet stało obok #StarCraft-a @barszczyk 😜. Może dlatego to tak wygląda bo masz, jako głównych bohaterów, Space Wolves, którzy wyjątkowo przypominają Terran 🤔? No ale sam typ gry zupełnie inny - zarówno #DawnofWar jak i #SC to #RTS-y, a tu mamy strategię-turową z domieszką karcianki 😉.

Had some ask if I'd join a #Discord server because of some of my old #modding stuff.

1) It was 10+ years ago that I did that stuff (#DawnOfWar is actually nearly 20 👴) - do I look like I'm that active any more?
2) WTF? Discord? REALLY? Has anyone EVER done anything useful on Discord?

I think I went on the #DVC Discord once and it was awful for anything other than real-time chat. It's IRC for the web, not a forum for constructive discussion!

I've loved #RealTimeStrategy (#RTS) games ever since I was a little kid. I'm not counting in #RTSGames that don't have base building (so not #DawnOfWar2 for instance...).
#StarCraft, #WarCraft, #AgeOfEmpires, #Command&Conquer, #TotalAnnihilation and others.
Wasn't a huge fan of #RelicEntertainment RTS games because the squad mechanics aren't to my liking.
#AgeOfEmpires4 has been made by #Relic but it seems different compared to #CompanyOfHeroes and #DawnOfWar and that's a good thing.

My little heavy walkers are following the dark and dirty scheme, too. They where my first attempts tona glow, only using a brush.

These are super old, metal Minis. I imagined them ankering their legs in the ground like in the game DoW (dawn of war) which is - to this day - still one of my favourite games (when the unification mod is added to get 29 factions) :D
