The life of an artist is ever so glamorous. After morning coffee and breakfast, I can spend two to three hours doing data entry to make sure contacts are current and correct. Then looking over contracts if I am doing municipal or county art (I currently am). Then lunch. Then rapid prototyping some settings for a pet portrait. Then work on upcoming call for art pieces. Then get teen from school. Chores. Brief break to read or blog or something not art related. Dinner. Then back at the art: either more client prototyping or maybe some fun art. Fun, meaning not owed to anyone, nor on any particular deadline.

Round of applause please as I have one of my square pebble paintings up with just over a fortnight to go until North East Open Studios*. That's the edges painted, painting varnished, frame pieces put together, painting panel screwed into frame, wire added, hanging hooks moved, painting hung, skewness of hanging adjusted if not resolved, then sitting back to admire it.

-I was tired so I started my interpreting shift super late. Wish I could say more about this job cause there’s always gossipy stuff I get to terp🤭
-German class with my very engaged student always makes me question whether should go back to teaching full time (jk why would I do that🫠)
-Thesis: had a counseling session with tips and tricks which tbh wasn’t great, but I still managed to put some thoughts into Stichpunkte and email my supervisor🫡

-👩‍🏫tutoring: made him a pilot written exam and timed him. Gave lots of feedback afterwards.
-✨yoga✨for my sanity, every day a teeny tiny bit closer to achieving bakasana without falling on my face.
-👩‍💻thesis: wrote A WHOLE page! Finally feeling like my writing block is starting to go away!

-Gave class to my beginner but very motivated student

-Thesis work: added figures and described them. Made an outline for my empirical analysis. Marked theory parts that I’m considering moving to a different chapter.

I then drove to a student of mine, whom I’m helping get prepared for his B1 certification of German (DSDI).

Went to yoga and then worked on my thesis until now: today I got informed about figures and tables and the correct way of illustrating them according to APA 7th ed.

So far this morning I have:
✅ posted the daily titles ordered and budget spreadsheet to the website

✅ reviewed last week's updates to the Community Zone and knowledge base

✅ read through the January release notes for Rialto and added some things to next month's to do list

✅ brief meeting with two of my direct reports

Pretty standard Monday a.m. stuff, really.

This Saturday includes...
- Picking a new song title for a new chapter, one that makes me see the setting like a movie scene (it's how I work)
- Oatmeal (happening now)
- Football (happening soon)
- Visiting a friend and giving a gift (happening later)
