#DBeaver kill them all 💣

I was looking for a database tool I could use for both #postgresql / #postgis and SQLite databases. I got the tip to look into #dbeaver. Just started using it, but I am already impressed. But of course, it is always good to know what the alternatives are. Do you have other suggestions for open source database tools that can handle different (remote and local) databases?

Probably the most complete #DuckDB #SQLTools extension created for devs & data scientists using #VSCode that includes all the DuckDB tree view objects, including main DB instance, system and temp database views with the corresponding main, information schema & pg_catalog schemas display, settings, extensions, data types, functions, and keywords display you will not find in #DBeaver or @motherduck or any other related DuckDB Tool/driver out there. 🤗

Hab heute Stunden damit zugebracht von einem in #Rust Code geschriebenen Programm auf einen #MSSQLServer per #ODBC zuzugreifen. Hab es zwischendurch auch in #Python mit #sqlalchemy versucht. Mit #DBeaver ging's, mit #beekeeper ging's, per Ping ging's.
Bis ich mir endlich einen passenden #ADO String gebaut hatte der dem Server genehm war. 🙄
Sowas passiert mir bei #PostgreSQL nie und auch sonst kenne ich keine solche Diva DB.

Remotely connecting to #postgres at fly.io appared to be as simple as importing a wireguard conf generated with a fly wireguard command and then checkboxing “all databases” in #dbeaver. #elixir #phoenix.
