Here we go… a circuit demonstrating that you easily leech 5ma from DCC track power. Works without the capacitor, which acts as a power bank. The 1000uf 16v I’m using here provides several seconds of power to keep the LED on so that lights don’t flicker when passing over dirty spots on the track.

I risked my SPROG II rather than my main controller for these experiments. Note to finalise the PCB and get it manufactured.
