@codebyjeff #gsettings for #GNOME, since some handy stuff is not configurable using gui. It is best to start with #Dconf Editor gui program and then you can move to the cli, if you want. This way you can save all important settings for GNOME and supported programs. Helps with recovery after reinstallation and/or automation process.

But either dconf as such is cluttered, or the #mate DE muddles it up so much. Stuff that in my understanding belongs together, is stored in so many different places.....aaarghh

Ich hab da nen Ansatz, aber da ich KDE nicht benutze, frage in die Runde: verwendet KDE auch #dconf?
Das verwende ich (unter Mate) um so Setups zu sichern und gegebenfalls wieder her zu stellen.
