There was a strong sense of emotion in the air, coming from myself and others who walked these rows of white crosses at the WWII American Cemetery at Omaha Beach, Normandy, France. Very poignant -- and not being maudlin, but my heart ached at the sheer waste of those promising and unfulfilled lives. ©Deborah Harmes, All Rights Reserved
