Dead Can Dance - Spiritchaser

I think my first exposure to Dead Can Dance was via This Mortal Coil, but in any case, they were one of the "classic" 4AD groups.

This was the last album of their initial run, released in 1998 (they reunited in 2012). It's very drum-focused, with repeating "tribal" drumming under melody lines.

Extremely atmospheric recording, excellent pressing, pretty top-notch all around.

Bon après réécoute attentive, je me suis fait un autre avis tranché et peut-être une autre #UnpopularOpinion !

Pour moi, "Within the Realm of a Dying Sun" est de loin le meilleur album de #DeadCanDance et "The Serpent's Egg" est même moins bon que "Spleen and Ideal" (j'ai baissé ma note sur RYM, d'ailleurs), à part sur le premier morceau, le magnifique The Host of Seraphim😊
