Le 02/09/1980, #DeadKennedys sortait son premier album studio "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetales" avec les singles "California Über Alles", "Holiday in Cambodge" et "Kill the Poor" et une reprise d’Elvis "Viva Las Vegas".

Los patrullero incinerados tras los disturbios de la White Night Riot en San Francisco y que ilustran la tapa de #FreshFruitForRottingVegetables representan a la perfección el inceniario contenido del debut discográfico de los #DeadKennedys publicado un día como el de hoy pero de 1980. El estridente y veloz sonido surf y rockabilly despedido de la guitarra de East Bay Ray junto al oscuro sarcasmo y cinismo de las letras político sociales de Jello Biafra colaboraron para caracterizar a la entonces incipiente escena hardcore del oeste de EEUU. Un disco que en su contenido lírico lejos de perder actualidad está más vigente que nunca a pesar de loa 43 años que han transcurrido.

Tοτε δεν γνώριζα βέβαια ποιος είναι ο Jerry Brown, ούτε για White Night Riots και ποιος είναι ο Harvey Milk που δολοφονήθηκε και γιατί ο δολοφόνος, πρώην δημοτικός σύμβουλος, Dan White, τιμωρήθηκε τόσο λίγο για το διπλό φονικό, σκότωσε και το δήμαρχο μαζί.
Ο Jello Biafra δεν μασούσε!
