I have a question for #HearingAid wearers or people who know stuff about them.

I’ve worn hearing aids almost 33 years. I’ve only had these ones 5 months and I’ve had a heap of problems with them. The receivers in the earmould keep messing up.

We thought it was moisture causing issues, so got a special drier, but could they be getting blown out if the speakers aren’t powerful enough for the aids?

Seems very weird that I’ve now had the exact same issue in both ears!

Hearing aid is taking the p*** now. Left it it silica gel overnight to see if I could draw out any moisture. Sounded like crap when I first turned it on. Put it back in charger and tried again. Sounded a bit better. D says, “Do it again”. I do, and now it sounds fine.

Excuse me, WTF? 🤔

My super-power seems to be “killing” tech devices. This is something my husband jokes about frequently. Except I have to wonder if this also extends to my Bluetooth hearing aids. I seem to have had nothing but trouble since I made the switch. 😬

I think streaming services should start offering a percentage refund of their fee to d/Deaf customers based on how much of their catalogue actually has closed captions available. I rather dislike paying for a service I can’t fully use because it’s not accessible to me.
