His jury voted AGAINST a #DeathSentence. An #Alabama judge overruled them.
He sued to stop his #execution, partly over well-supported claims that AL's incompetent IV placements during executions amount to cruel & unusual punishment.
An appeals court gave him a reprieve w hours to spare. #SCOTUS reversed course, giving no reasons.
So last night, AL poked & prodded him w/ needles for 80 minutes, w/o successfully placing an IV line, before giving up.
