Looks like I'll be staying on #Debian11 for our #Mastodon instances. While you *can* install node.js v16, #Debian12 makes v18 the default, and which means a bunch of extra work.

Tiene #debian11 pero me apetecía probarlo a ver qué tal. Si queréis os mando fotitos y opinión de que tal va. Y por si os interesa me voy a adentrar en #archlinux en el otro pc con polvo cuando lo limpie aunque me echa para atrás una barbaridad y voy a buscar el método más sencillo para instalarlo porque parece que hay varios!! I need some help. I installed @MailInABox and before that @yunohost on a brand new dedicated #server. Everything worked fine for a few hours. Now I get errors on the #SSL certificate. Won’t let me move past it either. Yes the #letsencrypt cert is install correctly and while it worked mailinabox said everything was fine. Now I can’t even get into the admin page. Did this for #yunohost too. What am I doing wrong? No errors in any of the logs. #debian11

My #intelnuc server crashes once a week... The investigation is ongoing.

Set up kernel crash dump to have logs next time it happens.

For now, my main suspect is the system m.2 disk, because it can't finish long self-tests. Still smart return no errors.

Lots of #Debian11 updates came through today. I updated and upgraded several systems.

Afterwards one VM wasn't playing silly buggers with a #vpn I until I realised there was a typo in the #IPv6 config and I'd assiged the default route to a device it didn't have!

It's important to reboot now and then to make sure it will!

I'd have spotted in earlier but I've no IPv6 at home anymore owning to #SFR being pants...!

De retour sur #Debian11

Buenas noches. #debian11

Llevo usando toda una semana #debian11 en su versión #estable de manera en mi laptop Asus VivoBook y puedo llegar a las siguientes conclusiones:

1. No me volvió a fallar el wifi en ningún momento.

2. A pesar de ser la versión de gnome 3.38 bastante tosco, el rendimiento va mas que sobrado y me ha demostrado porque muchas personas adoran debían.

3. Luego de instalar el kernel xanmod 6.2.... pues tocaba probar haciendo primero el día de ayer un directo vía youtube con múltiples trabajos al mismo tiempo y todo controlado y bastante satisfecho.

4. El día de hoy me toco probar para jugar, por lo que tuve que irme a jugar CSGO y los resultados fueron mejor de lo esperado. (No juego habitualmente aunque compre algunos juegos y los tengo ahí).

Finalmente debo concluir que esta versión se ha asentado mejor de lo que esperaba, dándome una sensación de estabilidad, comodidad y jugabilidad. Esperemos que debian 12 mantenga esa misma magia con mi laptop, de ser así, pues creo que encontré mi centro de gravedad con debian.

Que esperar de debian12??? pues, personalmente espero un salto muy cuantificable sobretodo en gnome por el paso de 3.38 a la versión 44 con la que calculo va a quedar en su versión estable.

No quiero decirme que ya soy debianita, pero ya les digo que me ha dado mejor sensación que mi amada fedora...llegara a reemplazarla definitivamente....solo el tiempo dirá.

Is it just me or is #Gnome performing really badly under #X11 using #Debian11? 🤔 Everything feels kind of choppy compared to #Wayland, for example scrolling websites in #Firefox or dragging windows around. Any manual fixes for that?

Cannot use Wayland as daily driver though as there are still too many incompatibilities.

When I start #gns3, I got this error message:

Fatal Python error: Py_Initialize: Unable to get the locale encoding

A problem with Python, I think.
Is there anybody which have a solution to fix this?
