Neofetch wasn't included with the default #Debian12 install using the #KDE image.

@beyondexcess Using #KDE here. A reboot shouldn't be necessary, unless another package required a reboot.

By itself, VIvaldi doesn't require a reboot when updating.

I use 'nala' (in a terminal window) to update my #Debian12 systems.

Updating the #Vivaldi browser on #Debian12 with the Gnome Software center requires 2 reboots. That seems... excessive.

After trying out #antix on an old HP Mini 210 Netbook, I dug out an old and dusty HP Pavilion Slimline previously used by my parents. It's a #32bit Intel Pentium E6500 @ 2.93GHz, 2GB DDR3 1066MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4350 with Windows 7. I did a backup of their personal files and unplugged the HDD. I installed the Samsung #870Evo SSD and decided to install #DebianBookworm #debian12. It went successfully! I just used the i386 CD iso image from the Debian site on the #Ventoy drive. #learninglinux

So I backed up my HP Elltebook (running MX #Linux ) and nuked the drive (dd). Planned to install #debian12 with #kde but the laptop just couldn't find the grub. Spent most of the day on it. Gave up last night and installed #LinuxMint. No problems. Installed kde. Now I copied the .thunderbird directory from the backup, and all my mail is there and it can log in to my email server! Unfortunately @thunderbird somehow lost all of my local calendars. :morty:

@linuxnews_de Schön, #Plasma ist unter #Debian12 wirklich ein sehr empfehlenswerter Desktop. Allerdings gibt es auch unter aktuellen Plasma-Versionen immer noch einige Showstopper bzgl. #Wayland: https://community.kde.org/Plasma/Wayland_Showstoppers
Und ich persönlich muss ich auch sagen, dass ich auf meinem privaten #EndeavourOS-System unter Wayland noch zu viele Hänger, Freezes und andere Probleme im Alltag erlebe. Vielleicht doch lieber #X1?

@Linux_Is_Best that is unusual. I have installed #Debian12 on my Dell XPS 17 and it was easy and works well. I have watched a lot of videos on #Debian12 and by all accounts it is the most stable version of Debian yet.

Huh. Is this new for #Debian12? 'useradd' and 'adduser' are not the same thing – and, no, neither of them are the PostgreSQL command.

I could have sworn that Debian included a little hack to solve this old chestnut.

6 Weeks of using #Debian12 , and other than a few minor issues with Gnome Shell, I really can not fault this distro.

Spending way to much time listening to whirring fans on DesktopPC though. I will be glad when @Raspberry_Pi update their OS to the latest debian base.

He actualizado a Debian 12.1 desde el 11 y me está gustando bastante. El tema de la actualización y no instalar de cero es porque tengo archivos y me dan pereza sacarlos en un hdd externo y luego tener que ponerlos de nuevo en el del pc. Iré contando más cosas.
