Attempting to calibrate my printer using SuperSlicer’s calibration models and the retraction calibration tower is just stringy all the way up. Is there some other factor I should be playing with here? (Each step is +.5 retraction length. At the top it’s 7!)

Seems like it’s only possible to get log printing on the app core on the thingy:53 and not the network core. Which is quite annoying. I can do step through debugging which is alright. #embedded #thread #OpenThread #debugging

Was about to #praise this #php ..
Alas, it doesn't work.

Does anyone have a theory as to why I’d get a weak layer right here on this print and how I can prevent it? The post is supposed to be one continuous shape, no indentation in the model. It’s happened on several prints of this model and in some cases has caused the post to break off at the weak point. (I switched from 2 perimeters to 3 and that fixed the breaking, at least.)
PrusaSlicer, if that makes a difference.
Need something to test weird network conditions, like spotty connections or packet corruption? Today I learned about a tool called clumsy:
https://jagt.github.io/clumsy/index.html
I needed something to simulate dropped packets due to a particular user living in an area where small, frequent outages were common. What I liked the most was that I could set a traffic filter so that it only messed with the traffic I wanted it to.

#ANDROID $users, do these before #charging in #public #ports :
1) #Disable #USB #debugging in #Developer #settings( it's off by #default, but if u have #enabled it previously, better turn it off)
Q: What if I already turned it on?
A: It's not much of a #problem if u didn't give 'Allow' #permission on asking for USB #debugging #permissions when u #connect to a #charging port(usually the permission won't #popup if it's just a charging port)

I learned about this cool #GNOME feature today, and I thought I'd share it with those who don't know about it yet:
You can, in any app window, press Ctrl+Shift+i to open the #Inspector, a little window for getting #debug and version information, logs, tree views of the UI template, per-widget property information, a text field for adding custom CSS, and a whole bunch more useful stuff!

I am thinking today about early in my freshman year at #MIT, many, many moons ago, when I watched @eichin debug and fix a bug in BSD grep inside dbx, and my mind was blown and my world forever changed.
I am thinking about this because #today for the first time in a long time I had to dig deep into someone else's C code and fix several bugs to make it work for me. It's gdb now instead of dbx, but the concepts are the same.

👀 Mistakes are expensive. Pairing reduces the risk of expensive errors that could take a long time to debug and fix later. The math shows that the likelihood of both making the same mistake is just 0.01%. #SoftwareEngineering #Debugging

A #debugging story...
Running #Ubuntu #Mantic, on a machine that has had its Ubunbu version upgraded so many times I couldn't possibly tell you what it was running first, #GIMP is crashing.
I can't report the crash properly to #Canonical because GIMP catches segfaults rather than letting the OS handle them.
I tell Canonical about the issue (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/2031907) but there's no response.

Spent 4 hours tonight at home working on fixing a work report for God's Pantry Food Bank.
Was pretty much looking for needles in a haystack, but I found them!
Searched for the differences of 3,400 LB received and 6,703 LB distributed, out of over 43 million LB in the last fiscal year (July to June).
What a feeling!!
Now to explain it all to an auditor.

Got myself a new #Android phone and immediately flashed it with @LineageOS (without installing the Google Apps add-on) to get rid of proprietary stuff from Google. Booted it and noticed it's overheating. Turns out this is due to a buggy Google app. I like when unwanted apps let you know they're still installed and running. Gotta find a way to remove all the remaining Google apps.
If only all debugging was this easy!

Two datasources w/ data and metadata
Test 1: Proves conclusively that there is a problem and it can't be the metadata. Therefore must be the data
Test 2: It's not the data.
WTF
Test 2 is probably the shakier reasoning because I fudged a lot of it. But I fudged both data sources *the same* so it should cancel out. :blobfoxcomputer: :blobfoxcrylaugh: :blobfoxangry:
