We're in the midst of a polycris, that will just destroy us of we don't beech lose that. We need a massive energy reduction and degrowth. Eg bicycles instead of ecars, no flying etc

This is a fascinating New Yorker article that discusses the decarbonisation shift and asks whether a renewable energy system that supports the current demand trend will replace one problem with another. The fuel is wood, but the spark is #ClimateChange. That's the reality we have to face. And the reality we must face is that we caused it. The next reality we have to face is we must triple-down on fixing it. We must #decarbonise. We have energy sources that are affordable today, #wind, #solar, and #hydropower and soon, perhaps, #GreenHydrogen. #tax, #transportation, and #public land #PublicHealth policies must be diverted from #petroleum to #GreenEnergy . We can do it!

Visited two #LNG stations in #Hognoul (#Belgium) and #Hirschberg (#Germany) today.

Thanks to this alternative fuel we will help #decarbonise the #transport system.

Arguement going on at work over how to brand our efforts to address #ClimateChange.

Proposal was made to use #Decarbonise TheCurriculum, but was attacked as undermining work on #Decolonise TheCurriculum.

Personally, I feel they are inextricably linked, as most of the carbon crisis has been caused by colonial exploitation, not only the theft of resources, but the deliberate actions by the global north to keep exploited countries subservient.

Disappointingly, when people were asked the language used was couched in terms of "racist & inappropriate", which somewhat biased the outcome.

Question.
Is it wrong to connect the two initiatives by using similar phrasing?

This is almost too self-evident.... I'd say: get cracking!
