He intended it as a demo for her, but when she heard it she was so impressed with his delivery that she recommended he sing it instead. The record was the second Jones single #Decca released, reaching No. 1 on the #UKSinglesChart in 1965. It was his first hit in the #UnitedStates.

It was first recorded in 1939 by #GlenGray and the #CasaLomaOrchestra with Carle on piano as #Decca 2321. It soon became Carle's signature piece. #GlennMiller released a famous recording of it a few months later, arranged by #BillFinnegan, with "#MoonlightSerenade" on the backside (#Bluebird 10214).

Digital download available, striking is the "CD.Audio" version. "We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock". And reading the reviews several folk reporting technical problems with the CDs. Eek that must be a big beamer 😊 for #Decca. In the rush to get it out production quality control taking a hit? Like what I received from my English-language checker, doing their job in telling me that writing 'master' and 'slave' #Decca stations, while established terminology, trips sensitivities better left untripped if one can find that in oneself. Or 'off-#boresight angle', when 'off-nadir angle' will do and doesn't trigger gun-violence victims.

Finally learned if Apple's USB external CD/DVD player plays Super Audio CDs. It does! I own so many albums of J.S. Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for #Violin Solo it would be impossible for me to count them all, but I love Akiko Suwanai so I had to have her contribution. It is on #Qobuz, but not available to buy in the US. It's listed under her Japanese name in Qobuz. Note the Japanese & English writing. Strange #Decca wouldn't sell in the US. #Bach #JSBach #violinist @baroquemusic @classicalmusic

Pour les fans de #wagner. Il y a 15 ans j'avais entendu la version #vinyle du #ring de #solti. Je me rappel encore de l'écoute ou je m'étais dit que le son est bien supérieur au CD. J'ai pu comparer et effectivement certains instruments ne pouvait pas être entendu. Depuis j'ai écoute cette version même en 24 bits avec regret. Aujourd'hui #Decca réédite un nouveau pressage en 24 bits, et je retrouve enfant le même son. L'oreille a une mémoire incroyable, je retrouve certains instruments perdus !
