The @cisagov team has released a tool called #Decide to help defenders build a visual ATT&CK matrix based on a Q&A style website.
The only downside is that you have to host it yourself, but it could be useful if you build ATT&CK visitations regularly.

I won't say "choose wisely" but instead I'll say: choose as wisely as you can but do not dwell too long and start taking the first step as soon as possible.
Waiting for the right moment is most often not the best choice as this moment may never come.
And if you make a mistake? Oh well, see what can be done to fix or start again. That's why thinking about it at least a bit at the beginning helps :)
