Like for instance, nobody would assume a war has to be fought from both sides #perspective. Even after a rational assessment of both sides this can well happen.
People always assume, one side is #evil the other side #good, or in worst cease (almost always) you decide for the "lesser evil".
People are entirely blinding out that from that point on only war is the way to go.
Another #weakness is the believe, that an action, like an offensive, must have had a good strategical #reason or a reason at all.
The #WSJ states, that US knew Ukraine couldn't win much in the counteroffensive and asked why it didn't told Ukraine.
What the WSJ is hiding, is that Ukraine knew that very well. I don't know (read) any neutral military expert that gave Ukraine a chance. That means usually that Ukrainian experts knew that too. That's why Zelensky postponed it for month.
In the end, it is neither a single man making decisions, it is even in a dictatorship a set of accumulated reasons, some are within group dynamics even unconscious to all actors.
So yes, it can happen, that a command leads to death of 100.000 humans (what soldiers are) and nobody wanted that even though, it was clear, that this would happen by these and that #decision.
THIS IS WHY WAR IS BAD! And not because of the ideological idiocies in your head. And this is the takeaway for a soldiers and anyone executing hierarchical commands: It can be, they send you to death, for no reason and they are not even mad with you or don't like you otherwise.

The #hazards are significant. #Refuse has really poor #structural qualities. People are #killed every year when the hole they're digging in a landfill while looking for #valuables collapses.
