So, I didn't and won't have the energy to re-create the thread. At least not any time soon.
The thread was based on a paper, which will be published in an upcoming special edition of the Review of International Co-operation, that I presented on #decolonising the #cooperativeidentity at the 2021 #CooperativeResearchConference.
Here's the abstract. I will post the paper here when it's edited and published.

“The challenges facing #cooperatives in Africa include overregulation, political interference into cooperative affairs, and the existence of cooperative legislation which does not adhere to the cooperative values and principles.”
And the #PanAfrican Parliament’s proposed solution is... *checks notes*... more top-down legislative processes? My head hurts.

Seeing @schock's tweets about scaling fediverse #moderation through a #coop has me considering re-creating the thread (from the other place) of my research on #decolonising the #coopidentity, building on this call (see image) by Jessica Gordon-Nembhard.
Every coop project needs to grapple with this question of which co-op history, knowledge and models it recognises and calls on in how it organises and operates. Beyond verbal.
Perhaps this weekend, if I can summon the energy.
